BROOKLYN FLEA RECORD FAIR

This was an exciting project because the Brooklyn Flea Record Fair had been cancelled for the past couple years due to the pandemic. The summer of 2022 was its comeback!
The team was keen to continue using the original artwork and lettering from past years, as it was the most recognizable by their fans. They didn’t want to reinvent the wheel for their big comeback, but they did know that it needed a little updating and fleshing out. I really enjoy projects where I am challenged to use existing art from another illustrator and reinvent it for different applications. I wound up turning the original living room illustration into an album cover, utilizing the style of the original hand lettering I also added “LIVE AT SMORGASBURG” as well as creating the actual record that peeked out from the top. The green was part of their original branding color story and so I kept that and played it up. I then created the tote artwork which played on the original brooklyn flea logo and incorporated my vinyl imagery to really play up the RECORD FAIR angle of this particular event. The end result was really striking imagery and the green color on the tote bags looked amazing.

We had an amazing turn out, as long time fans and supporters of the record fair came out in droves. This was by far the busiest live screen printing event I had done for them over the whole summer. People were lined up ALL DAY eagerly waiting to buy this limited edition bag.
